/ PROJECT DESCRIPTION
One of the most significant barriers to outdoor recreation for individuals who menstruate is menstrual hygiene. Presently, experts recommend makeshift solutions like plastic bags concealed with tape for managing used and unused products, an approach that can feel dehumanizing to users.
Moreover, it's crucial to recognize that not all menstruating individuals identify as female, yet many menstrual kits on the market are hyper-feminine, thus potentially undermining some users' sense of self.
The solution was to enhance outdoor accessibility by developing a hygienic and gender-inclusive menstrual kit.

Initial user and market research determined the target audience to be guides operating in the remote wilderness.

The mood board communicates aesthetic and functional inspiration.

Throughout the process sketching was used as a means to quickly communicate ideas.

Each feature serves to resolve a pain point identified during user research and testing.

The tech pack ensures product consistency and reproducibility.

The ultimate solution enhances outdoor accessibility by offering a hygienic and aesthetically neutral menstrual kit.

The key concern on the community dashboard, capacity, was addressed by simplifying tasks, centralizing patient data, and enabling multi-staff collaboration.

/ RESULTS
The biggest learning was design is deeply entwined with personal identity, therefore making it imperative that design solutions take into account both the physical and emotional health of the user.
